Nearly 400 Trained

We are thrilled to share the incredible success of the Summer 2025 edition of the AMEL Institute–our largest cohort to date! This summer, we accepted over 600 passionate changemakers from across Africa and the Middle East, making it a record-breaking cohort in both scale and impact.

Over the course of the program, participants immersed themselves in an intensive curriculum on democracy, conflict transformation, Holocaust education, human rights, and more. Delivered in English, Arabic, and French, the online training not only fostered cross-border exchange, but also empowered young activists with know-how to step up their changemaking on local, national, and regional levels.

When all was said and done, 386 activists had participated in the training from approximately 50 countries throughout Africa and the Middle East. Close to 300 fulfilled all of the requirements to graduate with a standard or distinction certificate, with an impressive 77% of graduates earning distinction for a course grade of 95% or more. This is testament to the strong dedication and perseverance demonstrated by participants throughout the program. Beyond the numbers, the knowledge gained was remarkable: pre- and post-program evaluations demonstrated measurable increases in participants’ understanding of complex topics, including peacebuilding, allyship, grassroots organizing, and much more.

But what truly stands out are the voices of participants themselves. Many described the AMEL Institute as a “life-changing experience”, one that gave them not just knowledge, but also a renewed sense of purpose, courage, and solidarity. From testimonials about gaining knowledge and confidence, to finding a supportive community of peers across a multitude of countries, the impact has been profound.

The Summer 2025 edition reaffirms the AMEL Institute’s mission: to provide a safe, inclusive, and transformative space where young changemakers can fill knowledge gaps, sharpen their skills, connect across borders, and collectively re-imagine the future.

With the Summer program now wrapped up, we are already on to the next chapters. Alumni activities are underway and will continue throughout the Fall and Winter. Preparations are also underway for the next edition of the AMEL Institute, which will build the capacity of hundreds more changemakers across the region.

Together, with each new cohort, we are building the foundations of a more just, peaceful, and united world, join us today
