With a packed event last night at Hofstra University in New York, the My Voice Our Future campaign kicked-off with a bang! Co-hosted by Hofstra Hillel and Hofstra NAACP, the event gathered a diverse group of students to hear from AMEL Speaker Cedric Nwafor from Cameroon. Sharing his story of the human toll of hunger, Cedric spoke about fighting hate through fighting food insecurity and called on the students to get involved in initiatives to reduce hunger on campus and in the community.
The My Voice Our Future campaign is centered on uniting students and communities around the issues of common concern. AMEL and ADL New York / New Jersey have joined forces on this campaign in order to combat escalating divisions and hate by fostering understanding, respect and engagement in and between our communities.
