Apply now to AMEL Institute, a unique online academy that provides free training to young changemakers (18-36 years old) from anywhere in the Middle East and Africa!

The AMEL Institute is for young leaders who recognize that every single human being on earth is equal in rights and dignity and that there is a critical need for new and creative approaches to ensure rights and equality for all. The goal at the AMEL Institute is to fill critical knowledge, skill and networking gaps among young African and Middle Eastern changemakers.

The interactive online leadership program is taught by experienced activists, seasoned practitioners, and top experts from prestigious institutions, such as Stanford and Harvard, who cover topics including:

  • human rights history and advocacy;

  • understanding genocide processes/prevention, including the Holocaust and other case studies;

  • conflict transformation and non-violent movement building;

  • democratic systems and processes;

  • activism self-care and safety, including digital security and mental health;

  • communication tools and techniques;

  • cross-cultural communication and building allyship.

The Spring 2026 program will be spread across 8 weeks starting in late March 2026. The program’s base language is English, but course material and assistance is also provided in Arabic and French.
